This was a well-attended panel discussion and Q&A on the history of Greystone Park Hospital and its service to the larger community at the
Morris County Library in Whippany, NJ.
The panel of experts included Cathy Vincent, student of local history and family member of a former Greystone patient; the Reverend Peggy Mesinger, Greystone Chaplain for 25 years; and Sue Shutte, Preservation Planning scholar with a special focus on 19th Century Asylums.
Understanding the Asylum -- A Smash Hit at the Morristown Library.
This public lecture, held Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at the the Morristown and Morris Township Library was a resounding success. More than 100 people filled the room and another 20 spilled into the hallway to hear Dr. Carla Yanni, Rutgers University associate professor of art history and author of "The Architect of Madness: Insane Asylums in the United States" speak about the history of asylum architecture.
